Rato and Dern

Well looking through my photoshop archive as I was working on some new work and, much to my shock I found this old piece languishing in there, unfinished without a shrug of dignity or pride.

Well never again I'd say. I whipped it out of the dusty files and threw it down onto my CS4 workspace and burnt some midnight oil to bring what you have before you. ^_^

While it lacks some of the progress and lighting of my formerly new pieces I think it is at least lives up to what my old skill levels were... while using some of what I have learned since they to enhance what is already there. I guess I could have done a bit more to spice this up but honestly the figures would have had to been completely redraw and seeing what this was in its current state some sort of completionist in me basically said I should finish this and get it out and take out anything that wasn't important. So that is why there isn't a third guy in this... which may not be apparently readily because he may or may not have been in the version that is currently in scraps. Link: [link]

Some basic back story is that the characters use to be troopers in the same squad over the years and ended up parting after the horned fellow (Dern) lost his wife to sickness and ended up in different squads and ranks years later.

Rato and Dern are characters from and I admit I have have not rped with my character Dern... and I probably won't anytime soon as I am currently working on other projects or at least in the early stages of planning.
